Now for the fun part. The whole point of the stimulus payment is to spend it and boost the economy, so I’ve been reading about some fun and unusual ways to do so.

There are actually some rumours flying around the net that car dealerships are chomping at the bit to start advertising some hard-core sales just around the time that the first payments will be issued. Here is a story from Market Watch that confirms that line of thinking.

[...] Stimulus Payment, Payment Schedule, Tax Relief Check Many thanks to the “The Life of Erin” blog for keeping up with the IRS website and finding the following payment schedule [...]
Super great post, Erin. Great job keeping current on what’s happening with H.R. 5140, Economic Stimulus Act of 2008, and the IRS implementation plan to shell out the goodies. Excellent points demonstrating how badly this idea is going to fail when people use their landfall to pay down debt or put it in savings instead of dumping into consumer goods to pump up the economy!
Thanks for the mention.
Faerie blessings,
